For Your Environment

  • Mobile phones are NOT supported

  • Check your WIFI connection.

  • Close browser tabs and applications not in use. Close ZOOM, GoogleMeet, MicrosoftTeams and any other microphone enabled application.

For Your Voice

  • BEWARE! Wired headphones with a microphone that can brush against your shirt is not allowed.

  • Sit up tall and speak as if an interested crowd is listening. They soon will!

  • Keep a water cup nearby to help with throat dryness.

  • Use a coaster to dampen cup sounds.

  • Keep a consistent distance between your mouth and the mic

  • Do your best not repeat words such as 'umm' and 'like'

  • Practice this tongue twister to warm up your vocal chords and improve your enunciation:

    • “Black background, brown background, Brown background, black background, Background background, black, black, brown, brown.”

Troubleshooting

  • Inside the recording room, there are options in the call settings to toggle your microphone, speakers, and/or camera. If you are unsuccessful in being heard and/or seen by others in the recording room, then it is advised that you shut your computer down, wait 10 seconds, reboot the computer, and try again.
